Bikes (and More!): Chester County's Active Transportation Plan for Public Rights of Way

About the Plan

Chester County contains over 2,500 miles of roadway, with only a few of those miles being improved to accommodate bicycles and other mobility devices. This plan will serve as both a policy document and a guide for Chester County municipalities to identify future networks of on-street facilities that will safely connect riders of all ages and abilities to town centers, businesses, trails, recreation areas, and other community destinations. The plan will address e-mobility options & polices, safety, education, design standards, maintenance, and budgetary requirements toward implementation of these active transportation facilities.

Webinar

Please join us as we kickoff the Bikes (and More!) plan on Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 p.m. This will be a virtual-only meeting / Zoom webinar where the Planning Commission's Multimodal Transportation Planning Division will present an overview of what this plan intends to accomplish toward developing safe active transportation facilities in Chester County communities. The 'BAM! Plan' will cover on-road cycling including the use of e-bikes, e-scooters, and other mobility options as well as sidewalk development and transit access within the public rights of way. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and provide comment on issues they would like to see be addressed with this plan. Register for the webinar.
