Posted June 22, 2026

On June 22, the Chester County Planning Commission launched the Open Space Accelerator Mini-Grant Program, which provides funding for municipalities to develop implementation plans for a specific open space-related priority project. Matching grants of up to $10,000 are available on a rolling basis until funding is exhausted. The program requires a 50% cash match.

Projects eligible for funding under this program include (but are not limited to):

Funded through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2), the initiative is designed to provide a clear implementation pathway to advance a key community priority, accelerating high-impact open space projects aligned with adopted plans.

Projects should advance existing plans, strengthen open space networks, and build public support for conservation and recreation.

Applications are now open and must be submitted through the County's online portal. Learn more about the program, as well as the application.
